Xidachane in less than 100 words
The term Xidachane, originating in the early 1800s was used in reference to the African Americans that were unfairly enslaved by the French. These slaves were then taken into Haiti by train to work on the railroad system that they were building at the time. There were stories that the people that got on these trains got off different, changed, xidachane. This term was used to describe the vacant nature of those transported, doomed to work themselves to death.
